Citizenship Flashcards
Study all 100 official USCIS civics questions as flashcards: tap to flip from question to the accepted answer, filter by topic, or shuffle the deck.
The complete official USCIS 100 civics questions (2008 version, public domain) in flashcard form. Each card's back shows the USCIS-accepted answer plus every alternative answer USCIS publishes, flags the questions whose answers change with elections, and marks the ones that depend on your state. Filter by section — American government, American history, integrated civics — or shuffle the whole deck.
All 100 questions are the official USCIS civics questions (2008 version, public domain). Answers marked as changeable depend on who holds the office. USCIS instructs applicants to answer with the name of the official serving at the time of their interview, so always confirm the current officeholder at uscis.gov/citizenship/testupdates before your test.
How to use this calculator
- Read the question on the card front and say your answer out loud — the real test is spoken.
- Tap the card to flip it and check the USCIS-accepted answer and any alternatives USCIS accepts.
- Use Next/Previous to move through the deck, or filter by section to focus on one topic.
- Press 'Shuffle deck' to mix the order once you know a section well; 'Official order' resets it.
- Pay extra attention to flagged cards: changeable officeholder answers and state-specific answers.
Worked example
Card 28 asks 'What is the name of the President of the United States now?' The back gives the USCIS-accepted answer — Donald J. Trump (checked October 2026) — with a flag that this answer changes after elections, exactly as USCIS warns applicants.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do these flashcards cover all 100 official questions?
Yes — all 100 questions from the official USCIS list (2008 version), in the official order by default, grouped by their real sections: Principles of American Democracy, System of Government, Rights and Responsibilities, American history, and Integrated Civics (geography, symbols, holidays).
What does 'USCIS also accepts' mean on a card?
Many questions have more than one acceptable answer. For example, for 'What is one right or freedom from the First Amendment?' USCIS accepts speech, religion, assembly, press, or petition the government. The card front answer shows one accepted answer; the back lists all of them, and on the real test you only need the number the question asks for.
Which cards have answers that can change?
Five cards depend on who currently holds an office: the President, Vice President, Chief Justice, the President's political party, and the Speaker of the House. They are flagged on the card. USCIS says to answer with the person serving at the time of your interview, so double-check those names before your test date.
How should I study with these flashcards?
Work one section at a time until you can say each answer out loud without flipping — the real test is oral. Then shuffle the full deck and mix sections, just like the interview, where questions come in no set order.
Is this an official government website?
No. It is an independent study tool. The questions and answers themselves are the official USCIS ones, which are a public-domain U.S. government work; always confirm current information at uscis.gov.
